Private credit for a Turo fleet is simple in one sentence: a non-bank lender gives a Florida LLC cash against the car, underwrites the host's actual Turo deposits, and records a lien. It exists because banks were not built to read platform income.

What “private credit” means here
Public credit is a bank loan or a bond anyone can buy. Private credit is a negotiated loan that is not listed on an exchange. In this niche the borrower is usually a Florida LLC that hosts cars on Turo. The use of proceeds is buying or refinancing those cars. The loan is business-purpose — not a personal auto loan, and not consumer credit.
Flagler Capital is a Miami firm that originates that kind of loan for operators. Hosts apply on the public borrower site. How those loans get funded is a separate, private conversation with accredited investors.
Why Florida Turo cash flow is financed privately
A Miami host can show a booked calendar and still get declined. Three reasons show up again and again:
- The income is not a W-2. Banks want pay stubs and tax returns. Turo pays every two weeks, with a high season and a slow season.
- The car is commercial. A consumer auto contract usually forbids listing the vehicle on a car-sharing platform. Using that loan for Turo can put the host in default with their own bank.
- Florida usury law caps small loans. On loans of $500,000 or less, Florida's all-in simple-interest cap is 18%. That is a legal ceiling on this product, not a marketing number. It is why this is a spread business, not a 30% MCA.
The gap is the opportunity: operators need cars; banks will not touch the income; merchant cash advances are often brutally expensive. Private credit that actually reads the Turo dashboard sits in the middle. See also our host guide, How to finance Turo cars in Florida.
Collateral, not a story
A serious fleet loan is not “believe in Turo.” It is a first lien on a titled vehicle, usually plus a UCC-1 on the LLC's receivables, insurance with the lender as loss payee, and GPS on the car. Wholesale (Manheim) value — not a retail asking price — is the honest benchmark for how much you can lend.
| Piece | Consumer auto loan | Business-purpose fleet loan |
|---|---|---|
| Borrower | Person | Florida LLC |
| Income used | W-2 / tax returns | Turo payouts + bank deposits |
| Car-sharing allowed | Usually prohibited | The point of the product |
| Collateral | Car | ELT title lien + UCC-1 + insurance |
| Offered to the public as a security | No — it is a bank loan | The loan to the host is not a public security; funding it may involve a private placement |
Where investor capital sits
Someone has to fund the loan. That someone is not “the crowd on this website.” In a typical private-credit setup, accredited investors provide capital to a lending vehicle; that vehicle originates loans to operators. The public page you are reading does not sell that instrument and does not list a coupon.
If you want the investor door, use request a conversation. If you want the operator door, apply as a host.
